Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Tidbit (ABN 42 329 061 077) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

  • Order and contact details — your name, email address, delivery address and details of what you ordered.
  • Payment information — payments are processed by Shopify Payments or PayPal. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Newsletter signup — your email address, if you join Bailey's pack (our email newsletter).
  • Account details — creating an account is optional. You can always check out as a guest.
  • Store analytics — we use Shopify's built-in analytics to see how the site is used (pages visited, general location, device type). If we add another analytics tool such as Google Analytics later, we'll update this policy.

Why we collect it

  • To process and deliver your orders.
  • To answer questions and handle returns and other support requests.
  • To send our newsletter, if you've opted in.
  • To run and improve the store.

Who we share it with

We only share personal information where it's needed to run the store:

  • Shopify — the platform that hosts our store and processes orders.
  • Payment processors — Shopify Payments and PayPal, who handle your payment details.
  • Fulfilment partners — who receive your name and delivery address so your parcel can be packed and shipped.

We don't sell personal information to anyone.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our fulfilment partners are located overseas. When you place an order, your name and delivery address are passed to them so your parcel can be shipped to you. Shopify and our payment processors may also store data on servers outside Australia.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as we need them to fulfil orders, handle returns and meet our legal obligations, such as tax record-keeping. Newsletter email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask at any time to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Email hello@tidbit.com.au and we'll respond within 2 business days. In some cases we're required to keep certain records (for example, order records kept for tax purposes) — if that applies, we'll tell you what we're keeping and why.

Marketing emails

We only send marketing emails if you've signed up for them. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect straight away. Order and delivery emails aren't marketing — you'll still receive those.

Cookies

Our store uses standard Shopify cookies to keep your cart working and to remember your session between pages. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, but the cart may not work properly without them.

If you're concerned about how we've handled your personal information, please email hello@tidbit.com.au first — we'd like the chance to sort it out. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
